  Fresh off the heels of receiving her first ever Grammy nomination (all-genre Best New Artist), No. 1 singer-songwriter Kelsea Ballerini was on hand to help CMA with another huge Nashville announcement this morning. While standing inside Oliver Middle School’s band room, Ballerini shared that the CMA Foundation would be donating $1 million to benefit music education programs in Metro schools. Nashville Songwriters Emily Shackleton & Liz Rose Pen Girl Scouts Song

Two Nashville songwriters teamed up to write the first ever original song for the Girl Scouts of the USA, and the organization could not have asked for a better pair. Writer and lead singer on the track, “Watch Me Shine,” Emily Shackleton, and Grammy Award winner Liz Rose came together to lend music to a forthcoming Girl Scouts PSA, “I’m Prepared.” The track features the songwriters as vocalists, as well as Girl Scouts of the USA on background. This morning, the Recording Academy announced the nominees for the 59th Annual Grammy Awards and Nashville was well-represented across all of the categories. In addition to the country categories, Nashville’s brightest shined in some of the general categories as well, with Sturgill Simpson nabbing a nod for album of the year and Maren Morris and Kelsea Ballerini representing country in the category of Best New Artist.
