KRKT is searching for the next country star...are you it?!
KRKT is holding auditions Saturday, June 8th, 11 am at the Heritage Mall in the food court for the local Texaco Country Showdown. Auditions will start at 11 am, registration will open at 10 am to all ages.
Please read ALL information below before coming to auditions!
From the auditions at the Heritage Mall, 20 acts will be chosen to move onto the semi-finals held at the Marion County Fair, Sunday, July 14th. Then, 15 acts from the semi-finals will be chosen to move onto the local finals held Sunday, July 21st at the Linn County Fairgrounds.
The grand prize winner will:
- Move onto the State Finals held September 21st at the Three Rivers Casino, Florence
- Perform at The 2013 Oregon Jamboree, Sunday August 4th, 1pm on the Spirit Mountain Casino Stage
- Perform a 20 minute opener for the Oak Ridge Boys August 25th at The Oregon State Fair
- Perform at the August 8th Corvallis Knights game, singing the National Anthem and 3 songs after the game prior to the end of the season fireworks show
- Receive a $1,200 certificate to use at The Castle House Recording Studio in Lebanon
If you plan on auditioning you MUST be able to attend the semi-finals, local finals, state finals, The Oregon Jamboree on August 4th, and The Corvallis Kights Game performance on August 8th. If you are selected to move onto the semi-finals and are unable to attend, a runner-up will be chosen in your place and you will NOT have the chance to move onto the local finals.
Heritage Mall auditions will be 1 acapella style song (NO INSTRUMENTS OR CDS ALLOWED FOR AUDITIONS)
You will be judged on the following categories:
Marketability in Country Music, Vocal Ability, Originality of Performance, Stage Presence, Talent & Song Writing (extra, not required)
Semi-finalists will be performing 1 song for the judges at the Marion County Fair, Sunday, July 14th.
Finalists will be performing 2 songs at the Linn County Fair, Sunday, July 21st.
The winner from the Linn County Fair will go on to represent KRKT at the State Finals held September 21st at the Three Rivers Casino in Florence.
